Terms of Service

Effective Date: 01/01/2025

 

These Terms of Service (“Agreement”) govern all services, courses, digital materials, facilities, firearms rentals, and training programs provided by SW Security Training LLC, an Oregon limited liability company (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By registering for, attending, purchasing, or participating in any training, event, course, or service provided by SW Security Training LLC, you (“Student,” “Client,” or “Participant”) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by this Agreement.

Scope of Services
​

SW Security Training LLC provides professional training and certification preparation, including but not limited to:

  • DPSST Unarmed Security Training

  • DPSST Armed Security Firearms Training

  • DPSST Security Alarm Monitor Training

  • ASP Baton, Handcuffing, and Tactical Light Courses

  • Firearms qualification and recertification

  • Contracted private-company training

  • Equipment and firearms rentals (where applicable)

 

All services are instructional in nature only and do not guarantee licensure, employment, certification, or passing of any state or employer exam.

Eligibility & Legal Compliance

​

By enrolling, you certify that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age.

  • You are legally eligible to possess firearms and ammunition under state and federal law (where applicable).

  • You are not a prohibited person under ORS 166.250, ORS 166.470, or 18 U.S.C. § 922(g).

  • You will comply with all Oregon DPSST rules, employer policies, and applicable statutes.

  • You acknowledge that SW Security Training LLC relies on your truthful representations and bears no responsibility for disqualifications discovered after training.

Registration & Payment
​

  • All fees must be paid in full prior to training unless otherwise stated in writing.

  • Prices are per student and non-transferable.

  • DPSST licensing and state fees are not included unless explicitly stated.

  • The Company reserves the right to refuse service for non-payment or misconduct.

  • All fees due prior to training. No guarantees.

Cancellations, Refunds & Rescheduling

​

  • No refunds once training has begun.

  • No-shows and late arrivals may forfeit tuition.

  • Reschedules are at the Company’s sole discretion and may include an administrative fee.

  • Company may cancel or reschedule courses due to safety, instructor availability, or force majeure.

​

 

Safety, Conduct & Dismissal

 

Students must follow all safety rules, range commands, classroom policies, and instructor directions.

​

The Company reserves the right to immediately remove any participant for:

  • Unsafe firearm handling

  • Aggressive, disruptive, or insubordinate behavior

  • Substance use

  • Failure to follow instructions

 

Removal for cause results in no refund.

Firearms & Equipment Rental Disclaimer

 

Where firearms, ammunition, or equipment are rented:

  • Student assumes all risk and liability

  • Student agrees to indemnify and hold harmless SW Security Training LLC, its owners, instructors, and affiliates

  • Firearm rentals include a duty holster but not a duty belt unless stated otherwise

Assumption of Risk

 

You acknowledge that security and firearms training is inherently dangerous and may involve physical injury, permanent disability, or death.

You voluntarily assume all risks, whether known or unknown.

Release & Hold Harmless

 

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and agree to hold harmless:

SW Security Training LLC, its owner, instructors, agents, partners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, injuries, losses, or legal actions arising from participation.

No Employment Guarantee

 

  • Completion of training does not guarantee:

  • DPSST licensure

  • Certification approval

  • Employment

  • Employer sponsorship

​

All regulatory decisions remain under the authority of Oregon DPSST.

​

 

Intellectual Property

 

All training materials, presentations, exams, manuals, and digital content are the exclusive intellectual property of SW Security Training LLC and may not be copied, recorded, distributed, or sold.

​

 

Governing Law & Venue

 

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Oregon.
Venue for any dispute shall lie in Clackamas County, Oregon.

​

 

Entire Agreement

 

This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior representations.

​

 

Acknowledgment

 

By enrolling, signing a roster, or submitting payment, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Service.
